Lukas van der Fecht is a trained dancer from Wolfsberg, Austria. He began dancing at the age of 8 years old, training in Latin America and competing all over the world. In 2007, he decided to train more in urban and commercial styles. Van der Fecht formed a dance group and took part at the ESDU Austrian and World Dance Masters in 2008 after he graduated from Gymnasium. This was when he completely fell in love with the art of dance and decided he wanted to be a professional dancer and instructor. He had the honor of winning a scholarship for a month of training at Brent Street Studios in Sydney, Australia and in the following year joined the full time program for Performing Arts. He received training from Kelley Abbey, Matt Lee, Cameron Mitchell, Jason Winters, Marko Panzic and began working in the industry when he was featured as a dancer in music videos, television and live shows.

In 2009, van der Fecht had the opportunity to go to the U.S. and train in New York and Los Angeles. He attended the Pulse on Tour Workshop in LA where he won the Protege Scholarship Award and competed with his school at the World Championships of Performing Arts. Van der Fecht graduated with a Certificate IV in Performing Arts in Sydney, Australia before making his way back to Austria to serve in the army for several months. In 2011, van der Fecht moved to Vienna to study Media, Film and Theatre and started teaching his knowledge to various schools and studios in Austria. He soon had to pause his studies as he booked a Swing/Cover Robbie Gould in the Oberhausen Production of Dirty Dancing – the Original live on Stage made famous by Eleanor Bergstein, and thereby began working for Stage Entertainment Germany.

After finishing his contract in 2013, van der Fecht began working on various projects in the U.S. He had the privilege of working with acclaimed US choreographers Luam, Rhapsody James, Justin Conte, Jared Jenkins and Neil Schwartz, among numerous more within the industry. He now has his own business, LVDFdesign, creating Fashion, Music and Movement for people all over the world. Van der Fecht’s deep connection with movement and the art form has proven to be his way of life. He is grateful to challenge movers and continue this beautiful journey through dance.
